Mary Yetter | Matrescence Coach, Educator, and Facilitator for Modern Motherhood

Mary Yetter, Modern Motherhood and Matrescence Coach

Something in me shifted.

Not just my schedule. My whole being.

I found myself wondering:
Why does this feel harder than I expected?
Why don’t I feel like myself?
Who am I becoming?

Before motherhood, I built an independent career.
Then I had three children in 27 months and stepped into full-time mothering.

When I finally came up for air, I remember thinking: What just happened to me?

I loved my children deeply. And I felt changed in ways I didn’t yet have language for.

That season led me to the word matrescence — the identity transformation that occurs when a woman becomes a mother, and ultimately to becoming a certified matrescence coach and educator.

I didn’t just find a word. I followed it...through formal training, certification, and deep study.

I am living this transformation in real time, and trained to support women navigating it.

My training

I am a certified matrescence coach through the Mama Rising® Matrescence Coach Training, an ICF-recognized and accredited program dedicated to the field of matrescence coaching.

My training includes a deep understanding of identity shifts, nervous system awareness, and the layered realities of modern motherhood.

This work is not therapy. It is steady, structured coaching held with depth, integrity, and care. When clinical care is needed, I believe in working alongside trusted mental health professionals.

Hands gently holding in support during the motherhood transition

The work

My work sits at the intersection of identity, maternal mental health, and the broader structures that shape a woman’s experience of motherhood including work, support systems, and societal expectations. It is both informed by training and ground in lived expereince.

Through coaching, education, and facilitated spaces, I help you make sense of who you are becoming—so you can move through this transition with more clarity, confidence, and self-trust.

This work is about understanding, not fixing.

If something here feels familiar,

that’s where the work begins.
